There are two definitions:
A nagual is the leader of a group of sorcerers. Their job is to provide teachings and accurate reflections for each individual. They represent the embodiment of the Intent of spirit. A nagual is a person is of born with 4 compartments of energy, and partakes in full training in the Toltec path of the Warrior.
The reason they are called this is because they represent the “bigger” nagual, which (in contrast to the tonal) is the unmanifest realm of possibility. This is unmanifest power and awareness and Intent. The Nagual is what manifests for the warrior as power, when stalked with precision.
